Sisters Day!

Today is Sister's Day everyone! This is a holiday my family made up awhile ago to celebrate sisters! I figured by spreading the word, maybe other poeple will celebrate, too!

I love the waterfall effect of this fountain outside Jefferson Hospital.

I love these shapes on the side of the hospital building!

A two picture kind of day!

Usually the rule is one picture per day, but this was just too good not to get two pictures of! I walk by this house almost every day and wonder what in the heck these nets were for.
Now I know!

I guess the cats enjoy sitting outside on a nice day?

Foggy!

It was so foggy this morning you could barely see the tops of the buildings!

Window Seat

An orange cat peeking out of the window at us! Cats sit in the window at houses all over the city. They are so cute!

An Apple Picking Good Time

That's me picking apples at the nearby Linvilla Orchards! It was pretty hot but it was still fun. Linvilla Orchards is a cool place to bring your family- they have a "fall festival" atmosphere, hay rides, pumpkin patch and play areas for kids!

History Ghosts

I saw this history interpreter crossing the street but could not get my camera out in time to get a picture from the front! She is like a ghost of Abigail Adams or Betsy Ross!
By the way- today is Constitution Day! So go read the Constitution or plead the 5th or use your freedom of speech to celebrate!

Jim's Steaks

Jim's Steaks on South Street are, in my opinion, the best steaks in the city! I took this picture from outside while we waited in line to take my sister there when she visited. How do you like your cheesesteaks? With or without? Provolone, American or Wiz?

Franklin Bust

This bust of Ben Franklin is decorated all over with keys! I guess he holds the "keys" to the city.

History Alive!

The best way to tour the city! Just like people did during the days of the Revolution!

The flag hanging outside the Betsy Ross house. You can visit the house for only $2!

Old City Pizza

Haven't tried it yet, but the sign is cool!

City Tavern

City Tavern is a cute restaurant on 2nd and Market. They serve food based off recipes from the Revolutionary Era and even beer created from recipes by George Washington & Ben Franklin!

Elfreth's Alley

Elfreth's Alley is the oldest residential street in the United States! It is still used today, and most of the houses are still occupied. (27 out of 32 are currently lived in)

Baseball Themed Phanatic

The Philly Phanatic strikes again! This one is the baseball themed Phanatic and was found in front of the Seaport Museum. I still have a couple more pictures of these guys to share, but I didn't get all of them! Unfortunately, they are auctioning off the Phantics statues so I wont be able to take pictures of all of them. However, you could have a nice statue for your house!

I saw this cute sign when having brunch with my friend at Silk City in Northern Liberties.

Theme Day: Open Air Market

This is my post for City Daily Photo's theme day "Open Air Markets." This picture is a "before" picture. Early on Saturday and Sunday morning the vendors set up for the farmers market at Headhouse Square in Society Hill.
