Philadelphia Union

A few weeks ago we went to the Philadelphia Union game! It was my first ever pro soccer game! Notice the "GOAL" sign in the background looks like the Philadelphia LOVE statue!

Baseball Themed Phanatic

The Philly Phanatic strikes again! This one is the baseball themed Phanatic and was found in front of the Seaport Museum. I still have a couple more pictures of these guys to share, but I didn't get all of them! Unfortunately, they are auctioning off the Phantics statues so I wont be able to take pictures of all of them. However, you could have a nice statue for your house!

A confused biker

I think this biker is confused about where they live. Or they just completed a very long bike ride! This actually caught my eye because my sister lives in Portland so whenver I see anything with Oregon on it, it reminds me of her!

100th Post!

I was going to do something special for my 100th post, but it kind of snuck up on me! So, maybe for the 200th post! I took this picture this morning at the train station on my way to work. I call it "There's Still Hope." The Flyers play again tomorrow night for the Stanley Cup and they are down in the series 3 games to 2. But, no one in Philadelphia will give up hope that the Flyers can bring another win to tie the series!

Theme Day: Funny Signs

June's theme day for City Daily Photos is "funny signs." I've seen this sign several times and always thought it was funny so I snapped the photo! I found out that the theme day funny signs was coming up so I saved this special picture for it! The sign explains to the buyer the many uses for golf clubs, besides golf of course. And if there are too many zombies there are more golf clubs inside the store, don't worry!

Scenes from the highway

This is a shot I took from the Schuylkill highway (76 westbound) of the Schuylkill river. There was a big collegiate crew race going on and I was trying to capture the race but you couldn't quite see it through the trees!

Happy Monday!

Statues of the Phillies Phanatic can be found all over the city.  I'm thinking its a form of artwork.  They are all made a little differently and this one looked like Franenstien-Phanatic!  Go Phillies!

Franklin Park, between 6th and 7th.

Snowboarding at Shawnee

This past weekend we went snowboarding in the Poconos at Shawnee Mt.  This is a picture of the "learning" slope aka "bunny" slope where I spent most of my time!  (technically not in Philadelphia, but very close!)

views from the highway

This is Boathouse Row along the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.  I love this area because each house is painted and designed slightly different from the others and at night they are all lit up with twinkle lights which is so pretty!  This shot was taken from the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) and of course I was not driving!!  (P.S.- its pronounced like skoo-kul, not school-kill) :-)

Fat Tires

This sign comes from the front of Via Bicycle shop (9th and South).  Just walking by gives me a laugh because they have so many funny signs in their windows!
